Many of you are already using Insight and are aware of what a fantastic tool it is for tracking pupil progress. As with other similar platforms, it’s great for NC subjects but up to now, has not included RE. This is obviously because schools follow a range of syllabuses and schemes of work. Having been made aware of the syllabuses I produced for Leicester and Lincolnshire, Insight approached me with a view to producing a framework for years 1-6 that would work for RE, regardless of whatever curriculum is being followed (or whatever changes might happen as a result of the government’s curriculum review). This new framework will be based on key concepts in RE and include progression statements and guidance around Working towards/Expected and Greater Depth judgements. In addition, there may be task banks for key stage 1, lower and upper key stage 2. Teachers requiring further support in the form of training, additional summative tasks, recording journals for pupils and teachers, etc. will be able to access these directly from me.

 

We are at the early stages of developing this work and it may be that I will be approaching some of you to pilot the new framework. Watch this space!
